I find my inspiration while painting on location. Capturing the nuances of color and light, and the beauty of nature are my main goals. I often paint still lifes out doors as well. The play of natural light across the motif adds another dimention to the painting process which I find exciting. It is this play of light that attracts me to a subject, be it landscape, cityscape, still life, or any other motif.

Inspired by French Impressionism at an early age, and later by California Impressionism, art is a vital part of my life. As an artist, I strive to continually learn and grow, always with an eye towards a higher level of excellence and deeper understanding. The knowledge that there will always be room for growth is a constant incentive which spurs me on.

There is a wonderful movie about an artist called "Local Color" coming out on November 7th, 2008 in theaters across America.  It was written and directed by artist George Gallo and I hope everyone gets a chance to see it.  You can view a trailer of the movie at:
